Facts and Figures 
- Name and Location: Mead Johnson Nutritional Delicias Plant, Carretera
Panameriana Km. 1573, Cd. Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico
- Size: Mead Johnson Nutritional Delicias Plant has approximately 10,000
square meters.
- Products produced, researched, or distributed include bases, infant
formulas, Choco-Milk and Cal-c-Tose. Products are produced for both
domestic and international markets.
- Recent construction or expansion: The last expansion area was inaugurated
in 1998 for consumer products (Choco-Milk and Cal-c-Tose).

Economic Development 
- The facility directly contributes to the local economy through employee
wages and benefits.
Community and Social Progress

- Volunteering workers assisted at the orphan girls house.
- EHS personnel visit elementary schools in order to teach environmental
protection issues.
- State and local colleges visit our plant to learn about the different
processes and professional practices.
- Recently our country suffered great damage in the Yucatan State due
to a tropical hurricane. In support of the people affected, our plant
sent finished goods such as infant formulas, Choco-Milk, and Cal-c-Tose.
- In the last state Ecology audit, our plant received recognition as
a "clean plant."
- Each year the local fire department visits our facility to observe
our fire system modifications and give us their recommendations.
- Social security has participated each year in our health and safety
week with medical examinations and clinical tests.
- Examples of notable EHS practices at site include:
- Approximately 76 standard operating procedures relating to EHS
have been compiled into three documents: safety, environmental protection,
and sanitary.
- Since 2000, the facility has used wastewater in its green areas
to preserve well water.
- A safety video, in Spanish, is shown to all contractors, and they
are given a safety contractor booklet. The contractor's workplace is
inspected on a regular basis.
- New employees are provided with safety orientation, including a safety
video and a safety orientation booklet.
- All employees are given a booklet, in Spanish, "think about the
fire, think about your environment, think about your own safety."
- The "act safe, be safe at work and at home" program was
translated into Spanish and posted to support our safety culture and
behavior in our workplace and homes.
Environmental Performance

- The facility uses certified contractors for its air pollution monitoring.
- Non-hazardous waste (i.e., cardboard and plastic) is recycled.
- Hazardous waste is sent to a controlled facility through a certified
contractor.
- During the last five years, the facility has not had any environmental
violations.
- The facility provides a lunch training program, which includes some
EHS items.
- Each year, we plant a different kind of tree.
- We have reduced the use of pesticides at our facility.
- During the 2005 Environmental Earth Day, the facility received recognition
from the State Government and Ecology Department for its community support
related to ecology and proactive environmental projects.
