allow at least six (6) weeks for the processing of your completed
funding application. Grants submitted less than six weeks prior
to an event may be rejected.
Bristol-Myers
Squibb maintains a strict policy of not exercising any
influence or control over the content or materials of any program
funded by Bristol-Myers Squibb. All Bristol-Myers Squibb sponsored
programming must be primarily
dedicated to promoting objective and balanced scientific education
related to disease state and treatment options. Please note:
- Medical
education grants may not be used to fund the recipient’s
operational expenses.
- Meals
must be open to all attendees, modest in costs, and clearly
subordinate to the amount of time spent on educational activities.
- Bristol-Myers
Squibb will not provide a grant in support of a grand rounds
meeting or journal club if the principal speaker or speakers
at the meeting are employed by, or a member of the staff of,
the requesting institution.
- Grants
for grand rounds and journal club programs are only available
for support of honorarium and lodging for the non-affiliated
speaker and modest meal costs.
Eligible
recipients for accredited medical education grants include:

universities
- professional
associations
- patient
advocacy groups
- managed
care organizations
- accredited
medical education companies
- physician
group practices
- pharmacies
- other
similar entities
Eligible
recipients for non-accredited medical education grants include*:
- hospitals
- healthcare
facilities
- academic
medical centers
- medical
universities
- medical
associations
- patient
advocacy groups
*Attendance
at a non-accredited program must be open to all healthcare professionals
in the broader community. The program content for non-accredited
programs must be similar to the type of content for which continuing
professional education credits are granted or must otherwise
be scientific in nature.
