Mead Johnson Profiles In Time: Michael Bradley
Michael
Bradley is a Mead Johnson senior territory sales manager based
in Springfield, Massachusetts. He joined the division 35 years
ago as a sales representative. Bradley talks about his career
in the fourth "Mead Johnson Profiles In Time" --
a series of articles published this year to help commemorate
the division's 100th anniversary. His story follows.
Q: What attracted
you to work at Mead Johnson?
Bradley: While interviewing with different companies in the pharmaceutical
industry, I was
very impressed with the caliber of people who worked for Mead
Johnson.
Q:
How did you feel going to work on that first day?
Bradley: I was extremely excited about my new career, but at the same
time,
I was a little nervous about working with my district manager,
John
Kubin (retired), for the first time.
Q:
What inspires you to come
to work each day?
Bradley: I
still love to sell. When a group of pediatricians
choose to use Enfamil® LIPIL® products
exclusively, it
is still the ultimate thrill.
Q:
Why have you chosen to spend your career at Mead Johnson?
Bradley: It’s
always been about the people I work with. My best friends work
for Mead Johnson. I always
knew that people like Regina Eaton, Pat Krieger and
Jerry McCabe, cared for me as a person, and not just someone
who worked for them.
You don’t find that in many companies.
Q:
What has been the key to your success?
Bradley: The best way I can describe my career
with Mead Johnson is that I always outworked
my competitors. I got up early, worked a full day, tried to close
on every call and
never took no for an answer. What I did best
was
over plan, over analyze, over work and over worry -- all in
the hope of over achieving.
There is no substitute for hard work. |
